"This internship has definitely moved me a step closer to my end goal because it allowed me to make connections with those in law enforcement. Additionally, I learned hands-on skills that I will hopefully use in my career, specifically the K-9 handling and training ones."
With her eyes set on a career in law enforcement, political science major, Kayla Kenehan 鈥�20 did her senior internship with the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Fire and Explosions Unit. Her experience involved working with highly-trained K-9s in situations such as a New England Patriots game at Gillette Stadium and working at Logan International Airport. Kenehan鈥檚 hands-on experience provided her with useful knowledge and valuable connections that will carry into her future career.

"I had to tell myself every day that my preceptor would not let me do anything she did not think I was capable of, and she continued to push my comfort zone. I left my internship feeling ready to tackle the real world as a nurse!"
Nursing graduate, Rebekah Brannen 鈥�20 spent the fall semester interning at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She began the experience feeling intimidated, however gained confidence in herself and the process as she continued to find her footing in the high-pressure environment.

"I had such a fun time creating the social media concepts and making website updates for Gorton's sub-brand, Hook Line and Savor, that it made me want to go pursue social media advertising/marketing even more than I already did."
Majoring in marketing with a minor in graphic design, Justin McCormick was able to work on various projects during his semester-long internship for Gorton鈥檚 Seafood. During this time he gained valuable experience while also reigniting his passion for social media marketing.
